Slow travel China — 14 days, fewer cities, deeper neighbourhoods
Fourteen days in just three cities — Xi'an, Chengdu and Lijiang — spending four to five nights in each to move beyond the headline sights into daily rhythms, local markets and neighbourhood life.
Slow travel in China means resisting the temptation to tick off every city on the map. Three destinations of four or more nights each allow you to find a local breakfast spot, wander without an agenda, and see how residents actually use the city. This itinerary chooses Xi'an (imperial north), Chengdu (Sichuan southwest) and Lijiang (Naxi highland) as three distinctly different environments, all connected by HSR or affordable flights.
