The Shanghai History Museum reopened in 2018 in the Renaissance-Revival former Shanghai Race Club building (1934). Galleries cover Shanghai from prehistoric to the present, with strong sections on the treaty-port era, the Republic of China period, and post-1949. Free entry with reservation.
