Hong Kong Ocean Park opened in 1977 — older than Hong Kong Disneyland by nearly three decades. Built on a steep coastal site with cable car between the lower (marine) and upper (rides) zones, the park is the local-favourite alternative to Disneyland. The giant panda pavilion is a highlight; multiple substantial roller coasters; a strong aquarium. Quieter than Disneyland on most days.
