About
Spring-fed pool in Lijiang with a five-arch white bridge and a clear-day view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain reflected in the water.
The Black Dragon Pool (Heilongtan) is a clear spring-fed pool on the northern edge of Lijiang Old Town. The five-arch white marble Suocui Bridge spans the pool; on clear mornings, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5,596m) reflects in the water — one of Yunnan's most-photographed views. The Dragon God Temple complex on the bank dates from the Ming dynasty.
How to get there
Walking 15 min from Lijiang Old Town North Gate.
When to visit
Early morning on a clear day for the Jade Dragon reflection.
