Shandong Coastal Loop — Jinan to Qingdao, 7 days
Shandong's coast, sacred mountain and Confucian heartland in one loop: Jinan springs, Confucius's birthplace Qufu, Mount Tai sunrise, and the German-flavoured port city of Qingdao.
Shandong is one of China's most historically significant provinces — it is the homeland of Confucius and Mencius, site of the sacred Mount Tai, and home to Qingdao, the former German-leased port famous for its beer and European architecture. This seven-day loop moves efficiently between the provincial capital Jinan, the UNESCO World Heritage sites at Qufu, the summit of Mount Tai, and the Qingdao coastline before returning to Jinan.
