Xinwu High-Tech Zone

Xinwu — Wuxi New District (technically now Xinwu District) — is the principal industrial-technology zone of Wuxi municipality, established in 1992 as a national high-tech development zone and now housing one of the most significant semiconductor and photovoltaic manufacturing clusters in China. The district's best-known industrial tenant is CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics Technology) and its suppliers, alongside a substantial cluster of solar-panel and clean-energy manufacturing.

Wuxi Shuofang International Airport, within the Xinwu zone, serves the city with connections to major domestic destinations and a modest number of international routes. The airport's location within the industrial zone means that business visitors arriving directly into Xinwu often remain within the zone for their entire visit.

The Xinwu International Business District, developed around the central axis of the zone, is a modern commercial cluster of office towers, international hotels, and service-sector businesses serving the technology-company ecosystem. The architecture is the standard Chinese new-district style — broad boulevards, setback towers, and generous landscaping.

For visitors to Wuxi with business connections in the photovoltaic or semiconductor industries, Xinwu is the practical base. The Yangtze Delta wetland parks on the zone's eastern periphery — preserved agricultural and wetland areas between the industrial facilities — provide the only natural-landscape element in an otherwise fully industrial environment.
