Yangluo Port District

Yangluo Port is Wuhan's principal containerised cargo terminal on the Yangtze, handling substantial inland-river freight from the mid-Yangtze provinces destined for Shanghai's deep-sea port and onward to international markets. The port handles automotive shipments (Dongfeng Motor's Wuhan operations, the Honda joint venture), steel coils, electronics, and consumer-goods imports.

The eastern Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge (Yangluo Yangtze Bridge), opened 2007, crosses the river at Yangluo and provides road and rail connection to the eastern Hubei plain. The bridge is one of the longer cross-Yangtze structures in the country.

Yangluo's character is industrial-residential rather than tourist. Visitors with industrial-tourism interests can request observation-platform access at the port; the surrounding Hong Mei Metro Station area has a substantive automotive-manufacturing corridor visible from public roads.

For most foreign visitors, Yangluo is relevant primarily as the base of operations for cruise-ship debarkation/embarkation when Yangtze cruise vessels begin or end their journey at Wuhan rather than continuing further upstream.
