Shijiazhuang Railway Station

石家庄站. Hebei's provincial capital station, a key interchange on the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed corridor with connections to Taiyuan and Jinan.

About this station

Shijiazhuang Railway Station serves the capital of Hebei province, a city of over ten million that sits approximately 280 kilometres southwest of Beijing. Though not a major tourist destination in its own right, Shijiazhuang is one of the most important rail interchanges in northern China.

The station sits at the intersection of the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed line and the east–west Shijiazhuang–Taiyuan and Shijiazhuang–Jinan corridors, making it a natural hub for travellers moving between points across the North China Plain. Services to Beijing take about 40 minutes; to Wuhan, roughly two and a half hours.

The city is known as a gateway to Hebei's more scenic interior: the mountain resort town of Chengde (though more easily reached from Beijing), the Buddhist cave temples at Zhengding, and the Baoding district to the north. For rail passengers passing through, the station is efficient and modern, rebuilt in a comprehensive reconstruction completed in 2012.
