Japanese ordinary passport holders are eligible for 30-day visa-free entry to mainland China. This entitlement was suspended during the COVID-19 era and restored in late 2024.

Hong Kong and Macau
Japanese passport-holders are visa-free for Hong Kong (90 days) and Macau (90 days).
