China visa for Finland citizens
Finnish passport holders are eligible for 30-day visa-free entry to mainland China. Hong Kong 90 days, Macau 90 days.

Finnish ordinary passport holders are eligible for the 30-day visa-free entry to mainland China for tourism, business, family visit or transit. Finland was included in the 2024 expansion of the visa-free programme.
What you need at the border
- Passport valid at least 6 months beyond intended departure.
- Onward ticket.
- Hotel booking or address of stay.
- Digital customs and health declaration on arrival.
Scope
Tourism, business meetings, family visits. Tibet requires the Tibet Travel Permit. Stays beyond 30 days require an L visa from the Chinese Embassy in Helsinki.
Hong Kong and Macau
Finnish passport-holders are visa-free for Hong Kong (90 days) and Macau (90 days). Mainland entry is a separate immigration event.
Practical notes
Helsinki Airport is a significant transit hub for Europe–Asia routes due to its geographical position. Finnair operates Helsinki–Beijing and Helsinki–Shanghai routes. Travellers connecting through Helsinki from other Scandinavian cities or the Baltics may find this a convenient routing.
