China visa for Czech Republic citizens

Czech passport holders are eligible for 30-day visa-free entry to mainland China. Hong Kong 90 days, Macau 90 days.

Czech ordinary passport holders are eligible for the 30-day visa-free entry to mainland China for tourism, business, family visit or transit. The Czech Republic was included in the 2024 expansion.

What you need at the border

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond intended departure.
  • Onward ticket.
  • Hotel booking or address.
  • Digital arrival declaration.

Relations note

Czech–China diplomatic relations have experienced some tensions over the years on issues including Taiwan and human rights. As of May 2026, the visa-free arrangement is in force, but travellers should verify current status before booking, as diplomatic developments can affect visa policy.

Scope

Tourism, business meetings, family visits. Tibet requires the Tibet Travel Permit. Stays beyond 30 days need an L visa from the Chinese Embassy in Prague.

Hong Kong and Macau

Czech passport-holders are visa-free for Hong Kong (90 days) and Macau (90 days). Mainland China entry is a separate immigration event.
