Passport and national identity document services, civil registry, notarial and legalisation services, REMA registration for Spanish nationals abroad.

Visiting and hours

The Spanish Embassy in Beijing covers consular services for Spanish nationals throughout mainland China. Services include passport and DNI (national identity card) applications, civil status registration, consular legalisation of documents, and registration in the Register of Spanish Nationals Abroad (REMA).

Appointments are required for most services; book through the cita previa (appointment booking) system on the Embassy website. The Sanlitun location is in the diplomatic district of Chaoyang. Emergency contact details for out-of-hours situations are provided on the Embassy website.

Spain maintains a Consulate General in Shanghai covering eastern China.

Addresses, phone numbers, and appointment procedures change. Always confirm current details on the official embassy or consulate website before attending. In genuine emergencies, use the out-of-hours duty line rather than daytime contact numbers.
