Visiting and hours
The French Embassy in Beijing provides consular services for French nationals throughout mainland China and Mongolia. Services include passport applications and renewals, civil status acts (births, marriages, deaths for French nationals), national service matters, and consular registration.
France operates an online appointment system for consular services. The Sanlitun compound is conveniently located relative to the Chaoyang diplomatic and expat district. French nationals residing in China are encouraged to register with the consular register (inscription consulaire) which facilitates access to services and emergency communication.
For emergency assistance outside business hours, the Embassy has a duty officer arrangement; contact details are on the Embassy website. French nationals with urgent needs should contact the Emergency Centre of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Paris.
