Heilongjiang Ice Circuit — Harbin and Beyond, 5 days
Harbin's Ice and Snow World plus day trips to Yabuli ski resort and the Siberian tiger breeding centre — northeast China's winter circuit at its most comprehensive.
Heilongjiang (黑龙江) province borders Russia and reaches temperatures of -30°C or below in winter, making it one of the coldest inhabited regions in China. The upside: the ice festival at Harbin is a genuine spectacle, the skiing at Yabuli is accessible and affordable, and the Siberian Tiger Park gives a close encounter with a critically endangered species. This itinerary is designed for January–February.
